CLAIM INFORMATION

Henderson Hail Agencies’ claims department consists of over 20 qualified adjusters who are available to service our policy holders in the event of a claim.

Henderson Hail Agencies believes in a highly technical claims staff. Adjuster Conferences are held yearly, focusing on practices and procedures of the varied crops insured, data gathering and policy coverages. Henderson Hail Agencies’ Claim Staff apply the Crop Hail Adjustment Manual which is the practice and procedures for claim assessment. The manual is set forth each year by the Saskatchewan Hail Insurance Council in conjunction with the Canadian Crop Hail Assoc., and the National Crop Ins. Services.

Filing a Claim

A written Notice of Loss must be completed by the insured and forwarded to our office within 72 hours of the storm. Notices may be mailed or faxed. Notices by phone are not accepted. A Notice of Loss form is included with the policy mailed from our office, however a written notice is acceptable if the form is not available. Information required on a Notice of Loss:

  • Insured’s name
  • Date and time of storm
  • Fields damaged and an approximation of severity of damage (i.e. Light, medium, heavy)
  • Stage of growth of fields at time of storm
  • Telephone numbers where the adjuster can reach the insured
  • Appoint a Power of Attorney if the insured may be unavailable to accompany the adjuster

Clients should view all fields to determine which items have been damaged. Record the items which need to be assessed, and advise to the Stage of Growth of the crop at the time of the storm. Make sure all available phone numbers are provided, including cell numbers so the adjuster can contact the insured.

A claim is processed upon receipt in our office and assigned to an adjuster, who will contact the insured to arrage a time to attend the claim.

Henderson Hail Agencies strives to respond within 14 days after receiving a Notice of Loss. This is determined by the number of claim activity in the given week. On early storms, if the damaged crops cannot be accurately assessed at the time of adjustment, the claim can be deferred until such time.
